GradeCraft Terms of Service

By your use of GradeCraft, you acknowledge that GradeCraft is an application under development that may contain inaccuracies. In addition, by your use of these resources, you agree to abide by Proper Use of Information Resources, Information Technology, and Networks at the University of Michigan (SPG 601.07) as well as the Institutional Data Resource Management Policy (601.12), in addition to all relevant state and federal laws.

You also acknowledge that we may send you communications or data regarding GradeCraft, including but not limited to: (a) notices about your use of GradeCraft, including any notices concerning violations of use; (b) updates; and (c) promotional information and materials regarding GradeCraft, via electronic mail.

You must not use GradeCraft to harm others or GradeCraft. For example, you must not use GradeCraft or information generated from GradeCraft to harm, threaten, or harass another person, organization, or the University of Michigan (U-M) and/or to build a similar service or website. You must not: damage, disable, overburden, or impair GradeCraft; resell or redistribute GradeCraft or any part of it; use any unauthorized means to modify, reroute, or gain access to GradeCraft or attempt to carry out these activities; or use any automated process or service to access or use GradeCraft.

You further agree and acknowledge that U-M will hold the copyright to any feedback you provide concerning GradeCraft, including suggested enhancements for current and future applications of GradeCraft, consistent with U-M policies including the University’s Technology Transfer Policy (SPG 303.04). In instances where U-M uses feedback you have provided to enhance GradeCraft and the implementation of this feedback could lead to substantial, material changes or new commercialization opportunities, under the University’s Technology Transfer Policy (SPG 303.04) you will not be considered an Inventor within that policy for any feedback you provide connected to your use of GradeCraft.

In the event that you use GradeCraft to create new copyrightable works, the copyright holder will be applied consistent with U-M policies for Who Holds Copyright at or in Affiliation with the University of Michigan (SPG 601.28) and Technology Transfer (SPG 303.04). Absent specific guidance in an existing U-M policy or separate agreement with U-M, the copyright holder will be the Regents of the University of Michigan. Additional information about when copyright would transfer back to the creator is provided in SPG 601.28 and opportunities for commercialization and revenue sharing are further detailed in SPG 303.04.
